Oldfield Beach

The larger of the two beaches and can be easily accessed from State Route 235 on the west side of the lake. There is ample parking, picnic shelters, and restroom facilities. Plus, Old Field Beach is host to many of our Summertime events you won't want to miss!

Fox Island Beach

Located off Orchard Island Road (State Route 708), this beach has restroom facilities, picnic tables and grills, and several tree-shaded areas to relax under.

Boating & Watersports

Have fun and be safe!

All no-wake areas and speed zones are marked on the map, and the areas are enforced by the State Park Water Patrol. There is only one ski zone for skiing and pulling tubes, and that is on the west side of the lake. No limit requirements on speed in this area. There must be at least 3 people in the boat including the skier. The second speed zone is for boats not pulling skiers or tubes and is located on the east side of Indian Lake. There are several boat swim areas as well located on the north side of Red Oak Island, along Snow Island and Little Walnut Island on the north side of Indian Lake. Boats can also anchor on the south end of Old Field Beach and at Fox Island Beach. Water depths run from 3′ to 12′. The lake bottom is mud and sand. You will need a hook anchor.
All public ramps have parking spaces for trailers and vehicles without unhooking. Moundwood and Lakeview are the busiest and largest docking areas. There are ramps at Chippewa on the north side, Blackhawk on the west, Lakeview Harbor south of the lake and Moundwood on the east side. There are also several restaurants with docks including McDonald's, Tilton Hilton, Acheson's Resort, Jac & Do's Pizza, and the Moose Club.
