By May 1st annually, Persons must pay the required fee and display the current year dock tag for use of a private dock, private platform, tie-up or boat house that extends from private land adjacent to the waters of Indian Lake. The fees can be paid at the Indian Lake State Park Office Monday- Saturday 8am - noon and 1pm to 5pm or by telephone with credit card.

RULES AND STIPULATIONS FOR DOCKS AT INDIAN LAKE STATE PARK
1. An annual fee must be paid for a dock or other superaqueous structures privately built and maintained by the applicant as required by the Revised Code 1541.22 or Administrative Code 1501.41-2-08. The dock license may be renewed annually between March 1 and July 15, and a current year dock tag must be displayed.
2. No person shall sublease, transfer, or assign his dock permit or rights to any other person.
3. Any person holding a current and valid dock permit for a private dock or superaqueous structure must remove any watercraft from the Division of Parks and Recreation within 15 days after the expiration date of the dock permit.
4. Where any dock or superaqueous structure or seawall has been constructed or is in any state of construction over the Division without a dock construction permit or seawall permit having been issued, the Chief may request the builder or owner to remove the unauthorized structure.
5. Shoreline protection around a privately constructed dock or superaqueous structure will be the responsibility of the dock holder. In addition, the dock or superaqueous structure, and any adjacent state land must be maintained in good condition and cleaned of litter by the dock holder as determined by the area manager.
6. All necessary permits, such as electric for watercraft hoists, and all building and zoning codes must be identified and will be the responsibility of the applicant.
7. The Division of Parks and Recreation will not be responsible for dredging around private docks and other superaqueous structures. Before any underwater maintenance or dredging is performed adjacent to or near the structure, owner approval must be sought from the Division and/or the Army Corps of Engineers. The Division's authority to control such activities is found in OAC 1501.41-3-11.
8. Approval of construction does not grant the applicant exclusive use of Division of Parks and Recreation shoreline, unless leased separately. Any signs or barricades restricting access must be confined to the dock or superaqueous structure itself.
9. The dock holder, with the dock holder first submitting a mowing plan to the park manager shall do no mowing on state land adjacent to any privately constructed dock or superaqueous structure.
10. The owner of the dock or superaqueous structure will abide by Division rules and stipulations, and also those stipulations listed on the dock license. Failure to comply with the rules and stipulations may result in termination of the dock license and a request to remove the structure. All plans and diagrams must be submitted in standard business format.
11. Only construction that meets the requirements in accordance with the local park's Dock Management Plan, if in existence, and standard ODNR dock plans will be considered for approval.
12. Taxes, if assessed against
the dock, will be the licensee's responsibility.

APPLICATION TO CONSTRUCT A DOCK OR SUPERAQUEOUS STRUCTURE OVER THE WATERS OF THE DIVISION OF PARKS AND RECREATION. ADMINISTRATIVE RULES 1501:41-12-12 AND 1501:41-12-17.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Submit all information typewritten or in dark ink.
2. This application shall be submitted to the appropriate state park office.
3. A map indicating exact location of the structure must be attached to the application. The map should be as detailed as possible.
4. The dock or superaqueous structure or seawall plans and specifications must be attached to the application. Sufficient details should be provided in order that the structural adequacy of the dock or superaqueous or seawall can be determined. All lumber must be designed for a minimum live load of 85 psf (pounds per square foot). If a floating dock is to be constructed, the live load can be reduced to 30 psf. No oil drums will be permitted as flotation only factory built cylinders with Styrofoam fill will be allowed. Copies of the Division of Parks and Recreation standard dock plans and specifications can be obtained from the park office.
