Indian Lake State Park, in conjunction with the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Indian Lake Development Corporation will be hosting the 28th annual Maple Syrup Festival on March 21 and 22. The festival will take place at the Indian Lake State Park Campground located at 13156 St. Rt. 235 N Lakeview, Ohio.
The Indian Lake Chamber will be serving a pancake and sausage breakfast both days from 8 am – 2 pm Saturday and 8 am – 1 pm on Sunday. The breakfast will be $5 per adult and $3 per child. Pints, quarts and gallons of real maple syrup will be available for sale on both days from the Indian Lake Development Corporation.
Festivities include free sugar bush tours from 9 am – 2 pm Saturday and 9 am – 1 pm Sunday. Tours include a hay wagon ride through the sugar bush with a stop at the sugar shack. Visitors are encouraged to dress for cold weather! The process of making maple syrup will be explained and demonstrated. Free samples will be given. There will also be a historical display of maple syrup production and a small petting zoo on Saturday. The local Madriver Valley Dulcimer Society will perform on Saturday from 10 am – 11 am followed by the Kids Dulcimer Group at 11:15 am. On Sunday the group will perform from 9:30 am – 10:30 am.

The Polar Plunge for the Ohio Special Olympics will take place at the Campground Beach at 1:30 pm on Saturday.

Ohio anglers may fish in any of the state's public waters (including Indian Lake) without having to buy a fishing license. For these two days only.
During the rest of the year, anglers 16 years of age and older are required to have a valid fishing license to take fish, frogs or turtles from Ohio waters. An Ohio fishing license cos $19 a year for residents.
Ohio residents born on or before December 31, 1937 can obtain a free fishing license at any license vendor. Residents age 66 and older who were born on or after January 1, 1938 are eligible to obtain a reduced cost ($10) senior fishing license. A one-day fishing license is also available for $11, an amount that later can be applied toward the cost of an annual fishing license. Fishing licenses are available at bait and tackle stores, outdoor outfitters, major department stores, as well as on the Internet at wildohio.com.

Indian Lake State Park “Duck Blind” Drawing will be conducted on Saturday, August 16th, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. at the Indian Lake State Park Campground. This is a new location as it has previously been held at the Park Office. The campground address is 13156 St Rt 235 N Lakeview, OH 43331. The drawing will be held to permit construction of permanent duck hunting blinds at 35 sites on Indian Lake. Applicants must show their 2014 hunting license, 2014 state wetland stamp and either the 2013 OR 2014 federal duck stamp. PLEASE NOTE that Indian Lake State Park no longer sells ANY wildlife licenses. These licenses must be obtained prior to “drawing” arrival. Successful applicants shall pay a non-refundable permit fee of $50.00 for construction of a permanent blind at the designated location within forty-five (45) days of the issuance of the permit.

The Ring of Fire ceremony is a traditional activity celebrating a bountiful harvest and marks the end of the summer season. Flares are lighted around the perimeter of the lake at precisely 9:00 PM. If you own waterfront property you are invited to share in this ceremony. Flares can be purchased at Spend-A-Day Marina and many other business locations around the lake. Volunteers will light the State Park grounds.

25-27th, 2015 - 35th Annual Fall
Annual Fall Festival will be held at the Indian Lake campground on September 25th,
26th and 27th, 2015. This is one of the most popular events in Logan County with
over 15,000 people attending each year.
The Festival features over 100 art
and craft displays including country crafts, woodworking, oil painting, iron work,
quilting, applique shirts and cardigans, decorated herbs, floral arrangements,
jewelry, toll painting, wreath making, crotchet work, and much, much more. All
vendors offer their work for sale at a reasonable price.
There is also
plenty of local entertainment at the Festival. Area bands Razzmatazz & Jazz, B.J.
& Billie, Jim Greer & the Mac-O-Chee Valley Folks, Roscoe & His Little Green Men,
West Central Swing Band, Country Expressions and the Madriver Valley Dulcimer
Group will play at their scheduled times during the Festival. A real crowd pleaser,
Jo Anne's School of Dance, will perform on Sunday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00
noon. These young dancers clog, tap, and do all forms of modern dance.
Indian Lake Park staff will have fresh apple
cider during the Festival. Free samples are available for all visitors. Park employees
also cook their famous venison stew. A long line forms around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday
for this crowd favorite.
Food is in ample supply during the weekend. The
I.L. Chamber of Commerce, Kenton Coffee Cups, Indian Lake Community Church, &
Knights of Columbus, are only a few of the many vendors providing a variety of
sandwiches, snacks, desserts, meals, and beverages.
On Sunday morning at
9:00 a.m., the Seedsowers provide an entertaining inspirational program for all
faiths. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will have wildlife, and parks
display in the Festival area. Other attractions wilre l be the Rescue and Miami Valley
Care Flight fly-in and demonstration on both Saturday and Sunday.
